About the Foundation
Mission of the Clayton State University Foundation:
To assist Clayton State University by attracting financial and other resources to achieve the University's mission and goals to educate students and support faculty and staff and to increase community awareness.
In Pursuit of Excellence
Continuing an established program of providing scholarships for outstanding area students, members of the Board of Trustees of the Clayton State University Foundation also include the following areas in their program of work:
- Scholarships for superior new students
- Scholarships for continuing students who have been awarded scholarships in previous years
- Grants for able and talented students who need financial assistance in order to attend college
- Cash awards to each student with a 4.0 grade point average at the end of each year of college
- Student Honors Day Program
- Faculty/Staff Recognition Program
- Quality Enhancement Projects designed to improve teaching and learning
The Board of Trustees of the Clayton State University Foundation has adopted programs and goals designed to go hand-in-hand with the expanded mission of Clayton State as a four-year institution.
A charter was obtained for the Clayton Junior College Foundation, Inc. in September of 1974. The name was officially changed to The Clayton State College Foundation, Inc., but the primary purpose - to support the College in its "pursuit of excellence" in programs and service - remains unchanged.
Since 1974 the CSU Foundation has provided more than $500,000 in scholarships to nearly 400 students to attend Clayton State University. Of these 400 students more than 300 renewed their scholarships and continued their education at Clayton State.
Interest in the programs and goals of the Foundation is sincerely solicited from all members of our community. The Board of Trustees is in a position to accept support for special programs, including the establishment of an endowment fund or scholarship fund in a name to be identified.
