Clayton State alumni, brag a little ...

Loch Notes is the Clayton State newsletter’s version of Class Notes and is the perfect place to share personal and professional news with friends and classmates. Gordon Hall (B.I.T. ‘03) --- Finishing MBA at Georgia State. Starts John Marshall Law School in Fall 2006. He is owner of AccurateScribe.com, Inc.

James Jernigan (‘78) --- Jernigan is president of 1-800-TV CREWS, the first and only national field video production company in America. 1-800-TV-CREWS sends literally thousands of crews into the field, covering everything from entertainment, news and sports to public relations and advertising.

Greg Mitchell (‘97, ‘98) --- As director of aircraft acquisitions and fleet management with World Airways, Mitchell, a Newnan resident, is responsible for all fleet management activities.

William Jacocks Rivers, III (‘05) --- Rivers scientific abstract on soil microbial ecology was accepted by the American Society for Microbiology South East Branch, and he was admitted to the Mercer School of Medicine by early decision. Rivers, a Jackson, Ga., is planning on pursuing internal medicine when he begins medical school in August 2006.

Branko Skovrlj (‘05) ---- Skovrlj has been accepted to the State University of New York Upstate Medical University College of Medicine. A biology major and a native of Croatia, Skovrlj graduated Magna Cum Laude and received the 2005 O. C. Lam III Award for Excellence in the Biological Sciences. He also played basketball at Clayton State.

Myron Head (‘05) --- A native of Chicago, Head was recently hired by John Hancock Atlanta General Agency, an affiliate of John Hancock Financial Network, as a financial services representative.

Jarica Waldburg (B.A. ‘04) --- A former Media & Communications major, Waldburg is currently seeking admission into the Georgia State University Law School.

ROBIN AYLOR (B.B.M ‘05) --- Anxiously awaiting the return of my husband from Iraq. He was deployed with the Georgia National Guard’s 48th Brigade, 648th Engineer Battalion, Alpha Company last May. Employed with the Georgia Independent School Association (GISA).

Traci Tankersly Rankin (B.A. ‘98) --- A former basketball letterwinner at Clayton, she has been teaching at Bagley Middle School in Chatsworth, GA since 1998. Served as a basketball coach at the middle school for six years and as a coach at Murray County High School last season.

Felicia Genovese (A.D.N. ‘93 & B.S.N. ‘00) --- Works at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta in RN Infection Control. Seeking M.S.N. at Walden University.

Gina Papa (‘99) --- Papa, Clayton State’s first women’s soccer MVP, integrative studies major and the University’s May 1999 Commencement speaker, is working as a systems support specialist in Advanced Learning Technologies for the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia.

Leah Brownell (‘01) --- Brownell is currently preparing for a big move from her native British Columbia to Thailand, where she has accepted a teaching job. Brownell, a former CSU tennis player, taught middle school after graduation and the last three years at M.D. Roberts in Clayton County.

Tom Marshall (‘04) ---- A dean’s list student during his entire Clayton State career as an Information Technology major, Marshall is Clayton State’s director of Administrative Systems.

Joni Gruwell (‘02) --- Clayton State’s first NCAA Division II All-American runner, Gruwell is accounting manager for Gate Precast Company.

Brian Magill (‘01) --- Brian completed his Master of Arts Degree in Film & Television from the Savannah College of Art and Design in March of 2006. He owns a freelance filmmaking and photography company in Savannah and will go to Kenya and Tanzania in June to direct and produce a documentary film. Brian, a former Loch mascot, was a SGA president from 2000-01.
