The Alternative Spring Break
Volunteer Program
will take place during the week of
March 8 – 14 Orlando, Florida! Students will engage in
community-based service projects during the University’s
designated Spring Break vacation to develop an understanding and
appreciation of the issues people across the world encounter
daily. Students will walk away from the experience with a deeper
understanding of volunteerism, community service and activism to
help create change!
Give Kids The World Village
Give Kids The World exists only to fulfill the wishes of all
children with life-threatening illnesses and their families from
around the world to experience a memorable, joyful, cost-free
visit to the Central Florida attractions and to enjoy Give Kids
The World Village for as long as there is a need. Give Kids The
World has five core values: Compassion, Dedication, Credibility,
Integrity, and Team Work.
The Give Kids The World Village (GKTW) is a 70 acre, non-profit
resort in Central Florida that creates magical memories for
children with life-threatening illnesses and their families. GKTW provides accommodations at its whimsical resort, donated
attractions tickets, meals and more for a week-long, cost-free
fantasy vacation. With the help of generous individuals,
corporations and partnering wish-granting organizations, Give
Kids The World has welcomed more than 89,000 families from all
50 states and over 65 countries.
As a volunteer “Angel” with Give Kids The World Village,
students will be assigned to a volunteer area in the Give Kids
The World Village theme parks. Such volunteer areas include the
Amberville Train Station, Julie’s Safari theater, Marc’s Dino
Putt Miniature Golf Course, the Castle of Miracles, Claytonburg
Park of Dreams which features a heated pool and Wacky Water
Works play are, the Gingerbread House Restaurant, Ice Cream
Palace and so much more!
Participation Cost
$250.00 per student; cost includes: 7 days and 6 nights, travel
and lodging accommodations, city transportation, free
participation in all University scheduled activities, events and
programs. This excludes all night-life activities and some
meals.
Guidelines
Students must: (1) be a registered Clayton State student, (2)
submit a completed application, (3) complete an interview, (4)
review and sign all University required documents, and (6)
submit the full $250.00 payment by January 23, 2009.

The deadline to submit your Application is December 12, 2008.
Email application submissions will not be accepted.
Complete the application in its entirety. Incomplete
applications will not be reviewed. If necessary, attach
additional sheets with your essay responses.
