Student Organizations

Student Organizations represent a very integral part of the campus community.  Clayton State currently has over 70 student organizations representing student interests in everything from cultural awareness to medical professions to fraternities and sororities.

Some plan campus activities and some serve as peer support.  Student organizations represent who you are as a student. They are your peers, your colleagues, your friends. Being a member of a student organization is a great way to stay involved!

If there is still something missing after checking out all the different ways to get involved and the 60 plus organizations offered at Clayton State, why not start a new student organization?

The process for starting a student organization is a straight-forward process and designed to challenge sponsoring students to develop their vision into a mission! Click on the How to Start a Student Organization tab for the step by step process.

RESET

The Registration Enrichment Support and Educational Training (RESET) program is a new initiative intended to ensure that student organization leaders are properly equipped to lead their organizations successfully and utilize all of the available resources provided by the Department of Campus Life.

The goals of RESET are to:

  • Help student organizations fulfill their mission statement and achieve their goals.

  • Develop leadership knowledge and skills.

  • Ensure that organizations are aware of university policies, procedures and resources.

  • Promote responsibility, respect, and positive experiences through student organizations.

The first step in becoming a recognized student organization is to attend a RESET workshop.  Each organization is responsible for sending one (1) representative to a RESET workshop. One individual can not represent multiple organizations at workshops.

The RESET program will offer a series of additional workshops throughout the year as an ongoing initiative to ensure the success of student organizations. Click on the RESET tab for a complete listing of scheduled workshops.

Advisors make a Difference

At Clayton State, advisors of student organizations are not chaperones.  They are educators, individuals with an incredible capacity to influence students as they navigate the real-life lessons of leadership and involvement. The Department of Campus Life deeply values the role that advisors play in the lives of our students and desires to provide them with the resources and information necessary to fulfill this vital responsibility.  Click on the Advisor Forms and Resources tab for additional advisor information.

Here at Clayton State University, we are confident that Student Organizations can do exceptional things, that they can be far more than just another club.  The Department of Campus Life is ready and willing to provide student organizations with resources that can make them extraordinary.
