Welcome
Welcome to the Clayton State University Disability Resource Center (DRC), serving students, faculty and staff with documented disabilities.
The Disability Resource Center at Clayton State University is committed to the lifelong development of individuals with disabilities. We envision a learning community that is welcoming of all individuals – one that embraces and celebrates the diversity of the campus while being sensitive to and supportive of the individual needs of each person. To this end, we strive to create an inclusive, informed, and accessible campus, community, and society. We will implement innovative practices and employ technological advances, educating and collaborating with students, faculty, staff and administrators, to accomplish our vision.
The mission of the Disability Resource Center, in partnership with the university community, is to create an accessible, inclusive campus where students with disabilities have an equal opportunity to fully participate in and benefit from all aspects of the educational environment. We provide accommodations and related services to CSU students with documented disabilities to fulfill our institutional commitment of equal access to courses, programs, and activities. The Disability Resource Center serves as a resource for students, faculty, staff and the community regarding disability issues.
Admissions decisions are based on a combination of factors. Students with disabilities are considered for admission according to the same criteria as any other student. Once admitted to CSU, students with disabilities seeking accommodations should consult the DRC website as early as possible and follow the posted instructions on the process for registering with the office. Once students have been admitted into CSU, they need to make an appointment with DRC to access services.
The Disability Resource Center services include accommodations, alternative testing, and assistive technology. We offer a variety of software and hardware available for use on campus that enables students with disabilities to access information and compensate for the impact of their disabilities.
The DRC office is located in room 255 of the Student Center. Our office hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Extended hours for testing are available by appointment.
