Testing Accommodations

A reduced distraction testing environment is available in the Disability Resource Center office. The testing room has a CCTV enlarger, six private carrels, a wind-noise sound masks, and an internet/network connection. Students must make an Accommodation Appointment every semester to use their testing accommodations. The use of test accommodations, time and location must be discussed and a mutual agreement made between the student and professor. If the student and professor decide that the best place for the student to test is in the DRC office the student should:

Touch base with the professor the class before or by email to remind him/her about getting the test to our office. The professor should fill out the alternative testing form accompanying the test and noting any specifications.
Start out using accommodations and if accommodations are no longer needed contact the professor and the DRC office, as the services are not retroactive.

Guidelines for Alternative Testing

Exams can only be scheduled during office hours unless pre-approval is given by the instructor; 24 hour minimum notification required to test in the DRC office; 48 hour notification required if approved to test outside regular DRC office hours.
Make arrangements with instructors regarding exact times for testing. Students are required to test at the same time the class is testing unless pre-approved by the instructor. (Exceptions: back to back classes and course outside DRC office hours)
Schedule pre-arranged test date and time with DRC
Arrive on time for testing. The number of minutes late (up to 20 minutes) will be deducted from the time allotted of the exam.
Arrive prepared to take exam (i.e., pens, pencils, calculator, etc.).
All personal belongings (purses, book bags, hats, cell phones, etc.) to remain outside testing room. DRC is not responsible for personal belongings.
All cases of academic integrity violations will be reported to the exam instructor and VP for Campus Life.
