Clayton State University is committed to being an environmentally conscious community by recycling and properly disposing of hazardous materials.
Paper
CSU supplies paper recycling bins throughout the campus and currently employs the services of American Office Paper Recycling. http://www.amrecycling.com
Toner Cartridges
CSU staff council provides toner recycling service through Staples. For procedures visit http://www.staplesrecyclefored.com.
Batteries
Facilities Management stores batteries in an approved container. When the container is full, a certified hazardous waste management company removes the container.
Tires
CSU has a contract with Goodyear that currently handles the recycling of all tires.
Automotive Oil
Facilities Management stores automotive oil in a 200 gallon approved container. When the container is full, a certified hazardous waste management company removes the container.
Pallets
CSU recycles wooden pallets through a contractor.
Fluorescent Lamps/Ballast
Facilities Management stores fluorescent lamps and ballasts in an approved container. When the container is full, a certified hazardous waste management company removes the container.
Computers/Monitors
CSU recycles monitors, CPUs and components through the state surplus process.
Cell Phones
CSU recycles old cell phones through a program sponsored by Public Safety. Recycle bins are located in the LakerCard office.
