Borrowing
Policy
Clayton State University
students, faculty and staff may check out an unlimited number of
circulating books. The student loan period is three weeks. The
faculty and staff loan period expires at the end of every semester.
A three-week renewal is allowed for students if there is no "hold"
request on the particular book. Clayton State students may
check out two videos or compact discs at a time for seven days with no
renewals. Each holder, even if it holds more than one CD or video, is
counted as one check out item. Students must present a valid LakerCard
in order to check out items. Students may not lend their I.D. card to
other students.
Any student currently enrolled
in one of the University System of Georgia institutions may check out
books from another institution in the system by presenting a valid
photo I.D., such as a university ID card, a driver's license, or a
military ID.
Reference books, periodicals and
some audio-visual materials are for library use only. Faculty and
staff may check out audio-visual materials to prepare for class or for
personal use with no limit on the number of AV items. The AV checkout
period for faculty and staff is the same as other library materials.
There are two book deposits. One
is located inside at the circulation desk. The other is located
outside the front of the library for use during those times when the
building is closed. Audiovisual items should be returned inside the
library.
Students who do not return their
library materials or pay their library fines will have a
"hold" placed on their record. Anyone with a
"hold" will not be able to borrow library materials,
register for classes or receive copies of transcripts.
Lost or damaged library
materials must be paid for by the person on whose card they are
checked-out.
Students currently enrolled in a
Clayton State University Continuing Education class 18 years or older may check out up to
five library items. No more than two AV items may be checked out at
any time. Books circulate for three weeks and AV items for one week.
Continuing Education students must show a current paid receipt and a
valid photo I.D.
