GIL Express Request

To request books from other USG libraries:

  1. Search the GIL Express Catalog
  2. To view the book record, select the title of the book you want to request from the results list
  3. Review the book record and confirm that the status field says "Not Checked Out"
  4. Select GIL Express Request (top, center of the page)
  5. Select "Clayton State University" from the drop down menu
  6. Select "Enter Your Institution ID from Home Institution" from the drop down menu and enter LakerID number
  7. Enter your PIN
  8. Enter your last name and select Logon
  9. On the Borrow Item through GIL Express screen, select OK
  10. Reenter your LakerID number
  11. Choose your pickup library (optional)
  12. Choose your pickup location: Circulation Desk or Peachtree City Center
  13. Click the Submit Request button

Books typically arrive within 3 business days and you will receive an email from Clayton State letting you know your books are ready for pickup.

Reasons a Request May Fail

  • The title is owned by Clayton State and is available for check out.
  • The title does not circulate.
  • The title is checked out, lost or missing, or on hold for another user.
  • Your library account is blocked for overdue library materials, fines, or fees.
