Building Maintenance

The Building Maintenance section protects the financial and physical resources of Clayton State University by maintaining physical resources and assuring efficient operations of buildings. Areas of responsibility encompass maintaining 600,000 sq. ft. of 17 buildings, the infrastructure of the main campus and satellite facility (Aviation Maintenance), as well as underground utility services, buildings and related systems, tools and equipment.

Service Request

Maintenance Department is the in-house labor force that provides scheduled maintenance and demand repair of facilities.
Among many responsibilities of Maintenance department is monitoring performance and troubleshooting problems of Siemens Energy Management System that controls motors on chillers, air handlers and pumps.

Significant attention is given to Preventive Maintenace (PM). The majority of preventive maintenance on campus equipment is performed by Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) technicians in this department. Some PM work, such as fire suppression system and elevator pressure tests, require special certifications or licensing, and are coordinated with outside vendors.
