(L-R) Joan Murphy, Carol Leavell, and Ernest “Bud” Miller

Carol and her husband, Mark, live in Cobb County. Carol drops Mark at Delta Air Lines in Hapeville and then continues to Clayton State. They travel almost 40 miles a day one-way. The Clean Air Campaign’s web site calculates that the cost to drive alone for Carol would be $563 a month. However, by just driving one vehicle, Carol and Mark are saving approximately $282 a month or $3,384 a year. A vehicle will produce about 0.7 grams of ozone causing pollution per mile: Carol and Mark saved about 1 pound of ozone causing pollution per month.
